Do you have a passion for sharing the history of Oxford?  

City Sightseeing Oxford are looking to expand their tours even further and require three Spanish speaking tour guides to show Spanish guests around Oxford on a variety of walking tours.  

Location: Visitor Information Point, 44-45 High Street, Oxford, Oxfordshire, OX1 4AP 
Rate: £15.02/hr on weekdays and £15.35/hr on weekends  

The role will involve speaking in front of large groups, educating them about Oxford, answering questions, and ensuring visitors have an excellent experience.  

This role will be a casual contract, meaning you will have flexibility in working hours on a monthly basis.  

• Fluent in Spanish  
• Drive to make every visitor’s experience the best it can be  
• Ideally have experience interacting with customers 
• Friendly, outgoing, and trustworthy 
• Open to meeting people from all walks of life 
• Comfortable presenting in front of large groups and answering questions 
• Ideally have knowledge of Oxford, including the colleges and historical sites 

The hourly rate is £12.00/hr Monday to Friday and £12.50/hr at weekends – paid even if the tour doesn’t run. This role will be a casual contract, meaning you will have flexibility in working hours on a monthly basis.  

You will also receive free bus travel on bus services operated by the Go-Ahead Group outside of London (exclusions apply), and other selected operators.

Oxford Bus Company Travel Shops are looking to hire a Retail and Tourism assistant to join their team!

Job Purpose: To deal satisfactorily with customer demands, complaints and to administer Smartcard sales and Coach/Bus Tickets. To sell and promote the open top bus tour and walking tours. To provide a customer focused experience at all times.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. To provide a customer-focussed experience at all times 
2. To promote and sell our City sightseeing tour and products 
3. To be knowledgeable about the city and attractions 
4. To sell Smartcards and bus/coach tickets at various locations 
5. To collect, collate and ensure completeness of information from customer complaints and pass it on to the Customer Services Department to allow thorough investigation to take place 
6. To answer queries and complaints clearly and concisely in person 
7. To work as a team with other key members of the Oxford Bus Company team. This includes the Controllers at Gloucester Green, other Customer Sales Assistants, operational managers as well as the Customer Services Department. 
8. To assist with the daily running of the Travel Shop and Visitor Information Point. This includes general cleanliness of the areas.  
9. Work independently and effectively when required 
10. At all times be an ambassador of Oxford Bus Company and bus use in general 
11. Operate in line with the Company vision and values and encourage others to do the same 
12. Undertake any other duties and responsibilities of a similar nature or level of responsibility which may be allocated from time to time by the Travel Shop Supervisors or Head of Customer Experience. 

Job title: Retail and Tourism Assistant
Hours: Part time, mainly weekends with opportunity of overtime.
Location: Primarily at our Travel Shops in Gloucester Green and Queens Lane, ticket selling at various locations in Oxford as required. Work at Head Office at Cowley House, Watlington Rd, Oxford may also be required. 
Reporting to: Retail & Tourism Supervisor and Retail & Tourism Manager
